Host: Ruohui Lin

Dr Ruohui Lin started working as Centre Manager and Postdoctoral Researcher for the Australia-China Joint Research Centre (ACJRC) in Future Dairy Manufacturing, based at Monash University early 2017. With the expertise in dairy powder and spray drying, she has provided product development and process manufacturing solutions to more than 4 dairy companies in Australia. As Centre Manager, she has organized 14 exclusive centre events and engaged with more than 600 dairy industry representatives, such as the 3 annual Joint Research Symposium in both countries. Her responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders such as dairy companies, government agencies in Australia and counterparts in China.

 

 

Dr. Shirley SHEN

Principal Research Scientist in Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). She is the Manager of Asia Engagement, CSIRO Manufacturing; the Lead of China Community of Practice, CSIRO; and the Acting Group leader of Design Surfaces and Functionality, Metal Industries (MI), CSIRO Manufacturing.

Dr. Shen obtained her PhD at Monash University in 2000 in Nano-composites and joined CSIRO in 2001 after one year at CRC for Polymers. She has been working on multifunctional/smart nanocomposites and surface designs for a broad range of industrial applications (with more than 100 journal papers), such as, cure on demand sealant, fire performance cable, and heavy metal ions sensing and multi-functional nanocomposites materials and devices, recently expending to Nano-particles for metal 3D printing and embedded functionality. She has initiated and led to sign total AU$14M intention agreements and more than AU$3M contracts with Chinese partners, including CAS Foshan, Jiangsu Industrial Technology and Research Institute (JITRI) as well as Chinese companies. She has extended her collaborations to some other Asia companies and universities.

 

Dr. Shuang (Victor) LI

Shuang (Victor) Li is currently a management consultant at Bain & Co. He has been working on a variety of strategic problems from Private Equity Due diligence to operation model optimisation and transformation in Consumer product, Healthcare, Telecommunication and Financial service sectors. Prior to consulting, He’s a Biomedical Engineering PhD at The University of Melbourne. In his PhD, he’s working on the next generation of coronary artery stent which aims to improve the efficiency in heart disease treatment. During his PhD, He moved into life science Venture Capital sector and worked at Bioclub, the leading biotech incubation platform in China, and Brandon Capital, the largest Australia life science Venture Capital firm. As a young entrepreneur, he also co-founded and exited EstateBaron, an online property development crowdfunding platform targeting retail investors.
